Cherry Valley Police Department Officer Larry Jones filed a $75,000 personal injury lawsuit against Austrian gunmaker Glock after he accidentally injured himself with a Glock 19C pistol.

According to the final scheduling order released during the third week of August, the jury trial for the case will begin on August 21, 2017 in a federal court in Helena. According to the lawsuit, Jones was using his Glock 19C pistol to practice at a shooting range in June 2013 when it discharged unexpectedly, causing him to shoot himself. Jones said he had not altered the pistol in any way since purchasing it in December 2000, so the accidental firing could not have resulted from his tampering with it. He claims that Glock sold the pistol “in a defective condition which rendered [it] unreasonably dangerous.”
