An accident involving a 1999 Chevrolet Prism and a John Deere tractor resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man from Lexa on Aug. 25. The Chevrolet was driving along Arkansas 121 when it hit farm equipment that was attached to a parked John Deere tractor. The tractor reportedly was pulled off to the side of the road, however the farming equipment was partially in the roadway.
Arkansas State Police responded to the accident in Lee County. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor and the driver of the Chevrolet were both uninjured.
The weather that day was clear and dry, discrediting poor visibility or road conditions as the cause of the accident. This is the 332nd death in Arkansas this year that was caused by a traffic accident. The car crash is still under investigation.
