Over 225,000 Ford F-150 pickup trucks are being recalled in the United States. The recall was issued by Ford due to an issue with the front brakes, which may cause them to weaken or fail. The brakes are weakened when the master cylinder leaks brake fluid. The problem has been associated with nine reported accidents so far.
The F-150 year models under question include those from the years 2013-2014, and must be EcoBoost models that have a 3.5-liter twin turbo V6 engine. To repair the issue, their master cylinders must be replaced, and possibly the brake boosters if fluid has leaked. The date to begin repairs remains unspecified by the company, but the repairs will be made free of charge at local Ford dealerships.
