A single-vehicle rollover accident in Sequoyah County on Oklahoma State Highway 141 on Aug. 17 left one man dead and another man severely injured. The crash happened at around 3:30 p.m. when a driver of a 2000 Ford Explorer hit a culvert in the road, causing the vehicle to flip twice before stopping.
The driver of the vehicle is currently missing, seeming to have fled the scene after the initial accident. The two passengers in the car were immediately identified. The deceased victim is thought to have died from fatal injuries to the head and truck internal injuries. He was not wearing a seat-belt when the rollover occurred.
The injured man was transported to Sparks Regional Hospital in Fort Smith and is in stable condition. Officers are investigating the cause of the accident and attempting to find the driver of the vehicle.
