Springdale, Arkansas resident Griselda Yanira Arrue, 37, was sentenced to 120 days of imprisonment and 72 months of probation last Tuesday, April 19 by the Washington County Circuit Judge Joanna Taylor. Arrue pleaded guilty to charges of leaving the scene of an accident in relation to a hit-and-run that occurred on Sept. 27, 2015 near Y Liquors in Fayetteville, which killed 45-year-old Hector Antonio Regalado-Sandoval and injured 42-year-old Emma River-Octaviana.

According to the Arkansas State Police report, video surveillance near the area of the accident showed two people being hit by a white car, which immediately drove away after making contact with the pedestrians.

Prosecutors stated Arrue received a lesser charge in the plea bargain as the area of the accident had been dark and the pedestrians were crossing in a non-crosswalk zone.
