Sixty-four-year-old Springdale, Arkansas resident Lonnie Shrum has been arrested after having hit three people with his Nissan Frontier along Hart Avenue in Springdale last Sunday, July 4, and then leaving the scene of the accident.
According to a bystander and a neighbor of the victims, Shrum was driving toward his place of residence when he struck a man and his 10-year-old daughter, noting that Strum “hit my brother and little niece [who] where playing with fireworks right there…and as the driver hit them and stopped, my sister-in-law went to go see my brother, to see if they were OK, and while she was doing that, the guy went again and ran her over”.
The family of three was taken to a nearby hospital to treat their injuries. Shrum is now facing charges of leaving a scene of a personal injury accident and battery.
